Lithium is needed to make batteries for electric vehicles.
Lithium is not really considered a rare metal. Chile has the most proven reserves
then Australia, Argentina, and finally China. There happens to be a large deposit of Lithium
in Clayton Valley Nevada. Many large and small mining companies are currently
mining or in the process of mining Lithium in Clayton Valley.
Nevada is a friendly mining state. If America is going to make the electric batteries needed
to power electric cars then why not mine the Lithium in the US. Investing in mining stocks
especially junior mining companies is extremely risky but can also be very rewarding.
Even with proven reserves you need environmental studies to get permits before
any mine can be developed. I do not recommend individual stocks.
